Simran, based in Perth, Australia is passionate about helping others create transformative changes in their body especially knee pain. Simran uses her extensive experience from 18 years of Physiotherapy, Ergonomics (study of body biomechanics), Clinical Pilates and Mindfulness.

It is this unique combination of experience together with a remarkable experience of her own knee pain led her to discover some secret principles of the body. Simran has had the opportunity to test and refine these principles over the last 10 years into a proven system which gives very predictable results for her clients.

What led me here...

In the beginning...

For 5 years I struggled to address my right knee pain, which would flare up with overuse either in sports or after a whole day of trekking. I spent hours and hours strengthening the muscles around the knee, diligently stretched every day, taped it up... but I still had a limitation. I felt frustrated that I was doing everything yet I couldn't really stop the pain from coming back... it felt like my body was broken...

And then... 

I had an experience in 2012 which changed my pain forever. I was trekking in Macchu Piccu which is a 4 day hike in the Andes mountains with a lot of steps. My right knee blew up after the second day. It was the worst pain I had ever had. I couldn't walk on it. It was swollen. I was anxious and scared about how I was going to do the rest of the trek. I was forced to use a stick and limped for the next 2 days with as 12 kg backpack. I was super slow and was left behind...

My breakthrough...

On the last day... I remember starting at 5am in the morning limping with a stick. My pain was a 10/10. And then, we got to the beautiful city of Machu Picchu which is mystical place. Well I can definitely vouch for that because, walking around the ruins... 6 hours later my pain disappeared! I got rid of my stick and my knee felt normal. There was absolutely zero pain!! 
I found it hard to believe so I tested it out by climbing Huyana Picchu (mountain at the back of the ruins) and there was no pain... I started to walk faster and faster until I literally ran up that mountain... and my pain was still gone. I felt so free and ecstatic! 

And... 

My knee pain never returned... even with playing double time badminton. I never needed to do any exercise for my knees again! no stretching, no strengthening and no strapping! I didn't quite understand how my pain disappeared forever... in fact it took me another 10 years to piece the puzzle together. I was determined to know what I had done so I could help others the same way.

My Quest...

Being a Physio, I was in a perfect position to test out my hunches on others with knee pain. And that's what I did for the next 10 years. Each time a hunch came true, I would re-test it again until I was certain and then I would find a way to get it happening faster... and easier for my clients... so they become pain free like I had. And this has now become a proven system called - Freedom to Move System which now gives very predictable results for my clients - ability to move without pain as fast as 6 weeks.

What I believe...

Modern medicine is taking the power away from our ability to heal ourselves when it comes to long term knee issues. Often common treatment such as anti-inflammatories, pain killers and cortisone shots stop the body from healing itself. 

Often we focus too much on what the damage is on the joint rather than on understanding what the pain is doing. 

I believe the body is very good at healing itself. We just need to create the right conditions to allow the healing to happen. 
 

  • Most long term knee issues do not require surgery 
  • Knee pain is related to muscle imbalance rather than a joint problem which is why pain can persist even after a knee replacement

  • It's possible to be 100% pain free even if there is bone on bone arthritis
  • Slowing down or stopping your activities is bad advise as it worsens the problem
  • Knee pain is not part of age and you do not have to put up with it no matter what your age is

Your Knee doesn't need fixing...


Are you confused about the best treatment for your knee? As you hear good and bad stories about most treatment options? You are not alone. This is the biggest mistake when it comes to persisting knee pain. The knee does not need fixing and that's why fixing the knee approach is not reliable. It's an outdated approach. 

​The good news is that you do not have to fix the knee. The only thing that needs fixing is the force going on the knee. Or how you are loading the joint in your movements. It's the force on the joint which causes the pain and stops healing. That's why the knee feels better with being off it, or it hurts less with walking in water. Because there is less loading on the knee then. 

And when you offload the joint, you also create the right conditions for your body to heal. Once there is no force, the body is able to resume it's natural healing process. 

Like to heal a cut, you keep it nice and dry. To heal knees, we offload the joint and the body does the rest. That is how you can completely heal easily and naturally without falling into the trap of endless medical treatments. 

​You may feel like your knee issue is too far gone. But the truth is the body works the same way in everyone. The inherent mechanism that runs our body is the same in everyone. Remember, the knee does not need fixing!
